Introduction
This privacy policy explains how the SteerMeUp mobile application (the “Application”) collects, uses, stores, and shares user and device data. By downloading and using the Application, you accept these terms.
2. The Data We Collect
Identity Information – First name, last name, nickname, phone number, e-mail (collected during registration)
Location Data – Precise and approximate location (only during check-in and broadcasting process)
Message Content – Text messages between users (in the chat feature)
Purchase History – SMU token packs (via RevenueCat / StoreKit2)
Device Identifiers – Firebase Instance ID (Firebase SDK)
Crash Data – Error reports, stack traces (Firebase Crashlytics)
3. Our Purposes for Using the Data
User registration and authentication
Physical location verification before starting a broadcast
Cancellation of the check-in if the user leaves the area after check-in
Performing SMU token purchases and balance management
Performance analytics and crash monitoring
Providing a text-based messaging service .
Background Location Usage
The application uses the UIBackgroundModes = location key.
Location tracking starts only after the user performs a check-in.
If the user leaves a radius of approximately 250 m, the check-in is automatically deleted.
No location history is kept; distance is not measured.
Location tracking stops when the broadcast or the check-in ends.
Third-Party Service Providers
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google) — Performance measurement and error reports (anonymous device ID)
RevenueCat — In-app purchase management (user ID, purchase receipt)
Daily.co SDK — Live broadcast video/audio streaming (real-time media and IP)
Data is not shared with ad networks; IDFA is not used.
Data Retention and Deletion
When the user deletes the account via Profile > Settings > Delete My Account, all personal data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days at the latest.
Crash logs are stored anonymously for 30 days.
Invoice records may be kept for 5 years where legally required.
User Rights
Under the KVKK and GDPR, users have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. For requests, you can send an e-mail to info@steermeup.com.
Child Safety Standards Policy
Zero Tolerance for CSAE
• Content and behavior related to child sexual abuse and exploitation are not permitted.
In-App Reporting
• Users can report inappropriate content via the in-app report button; reports are reviewed by our moderation team within 24 hours.
CSAM Processing
• In the event of CSAM detection, the content is removed, the account is disabled, and, if necessary, it is reported to law enforcement.
User SMUCoin Credit
SteerMeUp automatically loads 300 SMUCoin credit to users’ accounts at the time of registration. This credit is provided on the condition that it is used within the application; it can never be converted into cash by the user. Unused SMUCoin credit, in whole or in part, may be reclaimed if the account is suspended, closed, or terminated, or in other cases deemed necessary by SteerMeUp; however, in accordance with applicable laws and the SteerMeUp User Agreement, it will not be reclaimed from users who have used the SMUCoin credit provided they have not earned income from SteerMeUp services. For users who have earned income by using the SteerMeUp services and have used SMUCoin credit, repayment of the credit shall be ensured by converting an amount equal to the current value of the SMUCoin credit from their income into SMUCoin or by blocking the amount of SMUCoin used in their accounts. The amount blocked in the user’s account shall in no event be refunded to the user or converted into cash. SteerMeUp may change the SMUCoin credit amount or the procedures and principles of application at any time and unilaterally. Changes shall apply from the date of announcement or from the date specified in the announcement.
Age Restrictions, Staff Training, Contact, and Updates
The application is not intended for under 18; age gates are applied.
The moderation team receives regular training to recognize CSAE content.

Security
Data is encrypted with TLS 1.2+, servers are hosted in ISO 27001-certified data centers, and access is role-based.
Policy Updates
If the policy changes, it will be published on this page and an in-app notification may be made. Continuing to use the application after updates means that you accept the new terms.
